Restoration of the undercover of the old Daganzo forge
It maintains the typical structure of a rural-urban home in Daganzo and the towns in the area.
The purpose of this project is the rehabilitation and adaptation of the undercover space of the main building of the Museum of Fragua in the municipality of Daganzo and the restoration of its traditional roof, the purpose of which is to enhance the value of this space, the architecture and the construction systems. traditional, as well as their future use for the museum.
The forge was a traditional trade that was in great demand for centuries in Daganzo. In 1890, it was installed in the house, where agricultural utensils and carts were fixed, and it remained in operation until the end of the XNUMXs. It is of reduced dimensions, it has a height plus the undercover space.

The intervention sought to ensure that the building did not lose its current image, and with it the maintenance, as far as possible, of the entire structure, restoring its elements that were in poor condition. The entrevigado de cañizo, a traditional technique and currently in disuse, has been restored, highlighting this architectural solution and the related trades. The battening elements have been dismantled, as well as the pairs or logs of solid wood that were in poor condition.
A generalized superficial xylophage treatment has been given to the entire existing wooden structure on all its faces, including the battens.
The new roof is watertight, made up of corrugated plates that in turn serve as support for the curved tiles whose wave size will be chosen based on the format of the existing tiles.
