No, it does not have to be an unpublished exhibition as long as, as curator, you make a selection of your project according to the current selection.

As long as the production of work conforms to the budget indicated in the presentation standards, you can propose creating them for your project. Of course, if your project is selected, we need to know the production needs, size of the piece(s) and requirements for packaging, assembly and transportation.

All natural or legal persons residing in Spain who present exhibition projects related to artistic creation and culture can participate.

You can attend the call individually or collectively, in which case a single person must be appointed as a representative of the project for curatorial duties. It is important that there is only one interlocutor for the curatorial work.

Furthermore, if you are the author of the works to be exhibited, you can act as curator of your own project, as long as you follow the instructions on how to submit it to this selection of temporary exhibitions.

The Community of Madrid assumes the coordination tasks of the Itiner Network, collaborating with municipalities, commissioners and many other agents who contribute, year after year, to the success of its programming.

Red Itiner is an annual event, and through this process, seven exhibition projects will be chosen to tour from January to December 2026. The exhibitions remain open to the public for around three weeks at each venue, with rest periods depending on the characteristics of the works, so that at the end of the year each exhibition has completed a tour that spans between 10 and 15 different venues.

The samples are assembled and dismantled in a single working day and must be available throughout the year, and it is essential that the curator is present at the first assembly. The return of the works will be carried out in January 2027.

In order to comply with this schedule, it is necessary to produce all museographic elements during the last quarter of 2025. This means that the selected projects must be closed and the different materials to be produced (panel texts, cartouches, etc.) Available in November 2025.

The Itiner Network accommodates aspects related to artistic creation in a broad sense, modern and contemporary, music, cinema or literature. Although they can deal with any cultural theme, they must contribute to promoting the knowledge and approach of art to all audiences, and always within the calendar and budgetary limits defined in this call.
Due to the itinerant nature of the Network, the short times for setting up and dismantling the exhibitions, and the variety of the exhibition spaces that make it up, with an average surface area of ​​100 m2 per room and 60 linear meters of wall available for hang work, exhibitions must be easy to transport and designed with simplicity. The spatial characteristics and available resources are also very different, so it must be taken into account that wall works can be nailed or hung with rods, nylon thread or chain, depending on the resources of the headquarters.

In this way, it will be positively valued if the proposed exhibitions are:

• Easy to pack, transport and assemble, and complete assembly and disassembly can be undertaken in one working day.
• Easily adaptable to the characteristics of the different exhibition spaces, and modular, so that the same exhibition can be set up with a greater or lesser number of pieces depending on the available space.
• Didactic, accompanied by room panels, posters and other resources that facilitate the interpretation of the contents by a diverse and non-specialized audience.

The General Directorate of Culture and Creative Industries reserves the right not to include in the final selection the proposals that it considers impossible to roam due to their fragility and difficulty in transport and ensures that the municipal halls have adequate security and safety measures. conservation. However, not all spaces have the same exhibition conditions, which is why it is important that the security and conservation measures required in each project are specified.

The Community of Madrid will allocate a maximum of 15.000 euros (plus the corresponding taxes) per exhibition to cover, if applicable, the expenses of:

• Loan, exhibition or reproduction rights.
• New production of work, framing or other analogous resources (including audiovisuals, except plasma screens).
• Fees to participating artists

In your budget, you must break down these items, if applicable, for their evaluation by the jury of the call.

The Community of Madrid is responsible for the following costs inherent to the organization of the exhibition, which should not be included in the budget:

• Commissionerate. 
• Institutional graphics (signs, area panels, etc.)
• Exhibition elements: (Showcases, plinths, supports, etc...)
• Insurance policy.
• Warehousing
• Packaging, transportation, assembly and disassembly.
• Didactic and educational material.
• Advertising and communication.
