Selection process "Commissioner wanted"
For young curators and curators residing in the Community of Madrid
Since 2009, the Arte Joven Hall promotes "Se busca comisario" (Curator Wanted), an initiative that selects curatorial projects presented by young curators resident in the Community of Madrid and whose main objective is to provide professionals in the sector and the public with an overview of current artistic creation thanks to temporary exhibitions in which the ideas chosen by an expert jury are materialized.
The projects submitted can deal with any topic, discipline and/or artistic format, always within the calendar and budget limits previously defined in the published annual requirements. It should be taken into account that the proposals presented must incorporate works by artists preferably under 35 years of age who reside, work or exhibit in the Community of Madrid, regardless of their nationality.
Selection for 2026
The General Directorate of Culture and Creative Industries has carried out the selection of the winning project of the XVII edition of Commissar wanted and has made a special mention which is detailed below.

The selected project seeks to make visible how efficiency and mechanization shape bodies, subjectivities, and emotions, and where the material effects of constant performance become visible.

- Tania Pardo Pérez, director of the 2 de Mayo Art Center Museum.
- Pablo Berástegui Lozano, director of Casa Encendida and director of Cultural and Environmental Programs at the Montemadrid Foundation.
- Luisa Espino de la Peña, head of the Matadero Artist Residency Center. Madrid City Council.
- Andrea Fontana, exhibition curator and cultural manager.
