Practical guide for the development of heritage education activities

The Heritage Education Plan of the Community of Madrid articulates an essential part of its action in the incorporation of quality and innovation as defining criteria of the actions that are launched in the field of heritage education. Therefore, it is necessary to have a resource that facilitates the identification of such standards for interested agents and that allows the implementation of a line of work in the identification of the basic elements of quality of Heritage dissemination actions, becoming, in turn, in a guide and exemplification of good practices developed in the past.

The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid has prepared the monograph How to educate in Heritage. Practical Guide for the development of heritage education activities, in order to respond to this objective set in the Plan.

The scientific coordination of this publication is carried out by Olaia Fontal Merillas, Professor at the University of Valladolid and Director of the Heritage Education Observatory in Spain (OEPE).

The illustrations in the books are the work of designer Ana Carlota Cano.
