II Survey of Social Perception of the Cultural Heritage of the Community of Madrid
The second edition of the survey expands the monographic analysis of the perception of cultural heritage in the specific area of the region, begun in 2020.
Description and characteristics
The Heritage Education Plan of the Community of Madrid establishes the importance of developing specific studies around the activities that are carried out, to detect needs and preferences among the population, and also to be able to assess their effectiveness.
After the first Survey of Social Perception of the Cultural Heritage of the Community of Madrid, carried out in 2020, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the approval of the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage by Unesco, this edition delves into in the perception of citizens about the world heritage of the region.
The results obtained allow us to know the valuation of the citizenship on the cultural heritage of the Community, its protection and its conservation. They also allow to know, to a large extent, the interests and preferences of cultural consumption of the population, and are a fundamental guide for the development of actions that promote knowledge, social appropriation, and the enjoyment of heritage.
Main results
This study reflects aspects related to the valuation of the Community's cultural heritage by the population, and also analyzes opinions regarding conservation or public intervention in heritage protection.
The analysis of these results will serve to improve the offer of heritage dissemination and education activities in the Community of Madrid.
To delve into the content of the survey, two documents have been prepared that can be freely downloaded: the full results report and an executive summary that includes the most outstanding data from the study grouped by study area.
Open Data
To facilitate access to the full content of the survey, all the information obtained in the field work has been stored in the open data portal of the Community of Madrid. In this way, it is easily accessible, and provides the appropriate regulatory and information quality guarantees.
