Workshops, teaching sheets and many more digital materials at your disposal

La Red Itiner is a platform for collaboration between the Community of Madrid and the municipalities of the region for the dissemination of cultural heritage through temporary exhibitions. Since 2020, it offers the possibility of enjoying educational materials in digital format, aimed at all types of audiences, so that they know more about the contents of the exhibitions.

Children's workshops and educational guides for families and schoolchildren

Discover, with the help of Carolina Barreira López (Coordinator of CEATE's cultural volunteers) and in an entertaining and active way, 5 of the exhibitions that passed through the municipalities of the Red Itiner during 2020. Through these short videos we propose some practical activities that you can do as a family or in your educational centers in a simple and very didactic way.

"Gregorio Prieto and photography"

What materials do you need?

In this workshop we propose you to do a collage taking as inspiration the photographs of Gregorio Prieto. To make it, we recommend that you have the following materials (not all of them are essential):

Photographic camera.
Scissors.
Watercolors and brush.
Glue.
Magazine clippings with details of leaves, branches, parts of the body, clothing ...
Old photographs that you have at home.

More information about Gregorio Prieto

Gregorio prieto (Valdepeñas, 1897-1992) never held a camera in his hands, but he used it through his friends to create an imagined biography, having himself photographed in a variety of poses and scenes that revealed his deep admiration for Greco-Latin art .

His relationship with photography arose in Rome as a result of his friendship with Eduardo Chicharro Briones, photographer amateur that supported him in the technical part and with which he devised a large part of the avant-garde images of his first artistic stage and that would continue in the 50s.

What materials do you need?

In this workshop we propose you to do a collage taking as inspiration the work of the artist Paula Noya entitled "Galería de Sororidad", a series of portraits of artist friends recreated as if they were women from another time.

To make it, we recommend that you have the following materials (not all of them are essential):

A portrait (photograph, engraving or painting) of a woman artist that you like.
Your own portrait.
Scissors.
Glue.

More information about the exhibition

This exhibition was born from artistic action online "Such a day as today", a project of the artist Diana Larrea (Madrid, 1972) which consists of periodically publishing the biographies and works of historical women artists on social networks. With this action, the work of hundreds of women that has been ignored or relegated to a marginal position within the history of art is revalued and vindicated.

In this exhibition, Larrea invited current artists of the same generation to show works inspired by these new female references. The artists Paula Noya, María Gimeno, María María Acha-Kustcher, Mª Carmen García ^ Klamca ^, Marina Vargas, Aurora Duque and Diana Larrea herself, presented a series of works of painting, photography, drawing, collage, sculptural objects and video that made visible the role of women in Art History.

"LIKE, Eduardo Nave"

What materials do you need?

In this workshop we propose you to make a photobook selecting 12 images that you have on your mobile device and thinking about the common thread, the narrative, that your publication will have.

To make it, we recommend that you have the following materials (not all of them are essential):

12 images that you like in print.
1 large cardboard folded into strips of 16x65 cm.
2 cartons that serve as covers (17x12 cm)
Scissors.
Glue or double-sided tape.
An elastic band.

Like it is a photographic exhibition about what surrounds us, how we care about pointing out our being in the world rather than showing the world itself. Eduardo Nave invites us to think if it is still possible to get excited when we discover new things, among so many stimuli and reactions.

Are there no places left to run away? Are all the landscapes full? The void is what motivates you to travel through impossible, unreal, uninhabited and perhaps out of reality places.

How were the 20s in Madrid? Thanks to the images that are preserved in the ABC Archive, we know a little better this time full of History, how people were at that time, what were its main characters, etc.

Photography in the press was a novelty for his readers, accustomed to the drawings and engravings that normally accompanied the written news. The newspaper ABC had several photographers on staff who documented all the political, sporting, cultural events ... both in the capital and in the Madrid province. They were notaries of exception in a decisive time for the evolution of the XNUMXth century.

El Rastro is an iconic place in Madrid that brings together ruins and objects of all kinds that have passed through many hands and many lives. They are objects that accumulate experiences and memories in the form of dust, marks of use or the presence of images. The exhibition "Archivo Rastro" is a project that arises as a result of the appropriation and intervention, by various artists, of a photographic archive generated from the purchase, digitization and cataloging of negatives and slides found in the Rastro in Madrid.

The more than 3.000 images that make up the archive have passed into the hands of contemporary artists such as Ferran Pla, Cristina de Middel, Miguel Ángel Tornero, Antonio M. Xoubanova, Colectivo PIPOL and Nicholas F. Callaway, who have transformed them and given them a new life and meaning.

We have also thought about those who like to go through the contents of the exhibition through educational guides, with details and expanded contents of some of the works and proposals for activities for the whole family. We have designed three downloadable pdfs for all of you where you can consult everything about the unique photographs of Gregorio Prieto, the illustrations by the artist Guillermo Pérez Villalta for "Gulliver's Travels" or the curious and unpublished images of Madrid in the 20s from the ABC Archive.
