This year Hispanidad 2023, from October 6 to 15, is consolidated in its third edition as the reference event in Spain for the commemoration of Hispanidad and is internationalized thanks to the presence of artists and companies from Latin America, all with the common denominator of speaking a language, Spanish, which is used by more than 600 million people.
Hispanidad 2023 will have the Dominican Republic as a guest country and will extend its cultural offer to Seville, the city where the date will be celebrated with different artistic proposals.
More than 120 activities that will take over the streets and the main cultural spaces of Madrid, covering different disciplines such as music, theater, folklore, plastic arts and literature. Artists from 17 countries and the main cultural institutions of our region participate (Royal Spanish Academy, Naval Museum, Cerralbo Museum, Ateneo de Madrid, Casa de América, Casa de México, Caixa Forum, Círculo de Bellas Artes), as well as galleries from art, which have programming by Latin American artists and companies and the new Gallery of the Royal Collections.
The proclamation with which the activities will begin will be held on Friday, October 6, and will be given by Sergio Ramírez, a prominent Nicaraguan novelist, journalist and politician. From that moment on, street shows, recitals, concerts, exhibitions and workshops, as well as gastronomic proposals, will make this celebration a benchmark for celebrating the Hispanic language and cultural wealth.
As a novelty, the first popular race of Hispanidad will be held and the great free concert in the Puerta de Alcalá will be performed by the Colombian artist Carlos Vives on Saturday, October 14 at 13:2023 p.m. A great opportunity for Madrid residents, and for those who visit us, to enjoy and celebrate Hispanidad XNUMX.
