Aid to the audiovisual industry

For the production of feature films in two lines of aid:

a) Aid for the production of project-based feature films.

b) Aid for the production of feature films based on projects by new directors. 

New directors are considered those who have directed or co-directed more than two feature films that have been qualified for commercial exploitation in cinema exhibition halls.

Independent audiovisual production companies that carry out their activity in the Community of Madrid.

Multiannual character with a maximum amount of € 2.000.000.

Subsidies for the production of short films (fiction, animation or documentaries) whose ultimate goal is their public dissemination. The films will necessarily have a final result of production in a cinematographic format (2K DCP master on hard disk), with a minimum duration of five minutes and a maximum of thirty.

Have the status of micro or small company with the capacity to work in the audiovisual field, in accordance with the provisions of Annex I on the definition of SME, of Regulation (EU) 651/2014 of the Commission of June 17, 2014 Fiscal residence in the Community of Madrid. Groups of individuals or legal entities that lack their own legal personality, such as community property or any other type of economic unit or separate assets, may not have beneficiary status. 

They will be considered

• Quality of the narrative proposal.
• Viability of the project: adaptation to the budget, adaptation to the production plan and the financing plan.
• Artistic potential taking into account the director's previous work.
• Impact on the audiovisual sector.
• Historical cultural interest.

Multi-year call for €300.000. Broken down into €150.000 in 2024 and €150.000 in 2025. 

The maximum amount of aid for fiction shorts is € 20.000; € 25.000 for animation films and € 15.000 for short documentaries.

Twenty grants for creative activities in the development of the video game project (creation, design, programming) in its prototype phase.

The sum of the call is 500.000 euros, each of the grants will have a maximum amount of 25.000 euros.

Owners of companies that meet the following conditions:

-Have the status of microenterprise or small business

-Being a company with the ability to work in the field of video game creation and development (computer science, programmer, computer design or similar)

-The tax domicile and work centers will be located in Spanish territory, and will have at least one headquarters in the Community of Madrid. Foreign companies must have at least one subsidiary domiciled in the same terms of the previous paragraph.

A unique narrative, original and unpublished video game will be presented. With the corresponding intellectual property rights and authorizations or permits to be able to create and develop it.

The project cannot be linked to the promotion or advertising of a business brand.

Videogames subject to Law 13/2011, on Game Regulation, or those with pornographic or apology content of violence, discrimination or hatred in any of its manifestations will not be subsidized.

Intended for audiovisual projects for development as feature films or series, whether fiction, documentary or animation, and which can later be converted into an audiovisual work for public display in cinemas, television or digital platforms. 

The owners of independent production companies whose object is cinematographic or audiovisual activity, in the form of individual businessman, commercial or civil society, labor cooperative society or economic interest groups. 

The fiscal domicile and the work centers of the personnel will be located in Spanish territory, and will have, at least, one headquarters in the Community of Madrid.

The company must have a minimum of two years in audiovisual activity or cinematographic, or its administrator or majority shareholder a proven professional career in the two years prior to the date of the application. In the event that there are two companies that provide solvency, they must be 50% partners. In economic interest groups, professional experience must be accredited by the company that is the producer-manager.

They will not be able to access the status of beneficiary groups of natural or legal persons that lack their own legal personality.

In the event that an audiovisual project is being prepared through co-production by several companies, only the one that executes the expense and has the majority percentage of it may be a beneficiary of the aid. In the event that the percentage is the same in two or more companies, only one application per project will be accepted.

The expenses to carry out the activities necessary to make the audiovisual work, prior to its filming or production. Included are: script writing and improvement; search of locations, visual design, selection of the distribution, the procedures to obtain financial resources, the initial plans of sale and distribution, the advice of third parties in relation to technological aspects of the project, the acquisition of rights and research in archives , the development of animation pilots, the budget and any other that has to do with the development of the project.

The eligible period is considered to be from December 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024.

The deadline for justification and presentation of supporting documentation is November 1, 2024.

Aid for the realization of activities related to cinematography.

Non-profit private cultural entities that meet the following requirements:

- Be enrolled in the regional or national Register with a minimum of two years.

-Make the activity object of subsidy in the territorial area of ​​the Community of Madrid.

-Not to be a beneficiary of a grant with nominative assignment in the Budget Law in force in the year of granting aid to private cultural entities without profit making charge to the same budgetary program that finances the annual call.

The specific project of the activity for which the request is made must take place within the computable period indicated in the call. The budget of expenditure and the planned funding for it will be attached.

A report of the cultural activities carried out in the previous two years will be included.

Maintenance expenses and ordinary operation of the entity or meals and expenses of representation will not be eligible.

The following criteria will be taken into account:

-Cultural interest of the project taking into account its quality, its originality and the impact on the creation of new audiences.

-Trajectory of the entity in the realization of cultural activities.

-Continuity in the time of the cultural manifestation for which the help is requested.

-The number of partners.

-The destination of the project: for the environment of the entity itself, for specific groups or for the Community in general.
