The history of the construction of the Church of San Salvador It is part of a period from the end of the 1701th century or the beginning of the 1707th, until the Churriguera altarpieces were completed, in the years 1720-XNUMX and in XNUMX.

The oldest part is the pentagonal apse, with stonework, completed around 1570. In 1584 the tower was built at the foot of the temple, but it would be replaced by another, when around 1660 the temple was enlarged with its current structure. The works finished in 1676, and Felipe V commissioned the replacement of the main altarpiece and the execution of all the others that are preserved today.
