Book: Ventura Rodríguez. The power of drawing

The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage publishes the book Ventura Rodríguez. The power of drawing, that collects and analyzes all the architect's graphic production from different perspectives. In total, 370 drawings by Rodríguez are shown, which are complemented by another forty made by his most direct collaborators.

The publication Ventura Rodríguez. The power of drawing offers a reasoned compilation of all the architect's drawings, understood as elements that agglutinate and synthesize all his production.

The aim of the publication is to collect and arrange the architectural drawings due to Ventura turning them into protagonists of the work, leaving in the background the textual considerations about the architecture implicit in them.

In this sense, the work contributes a set of unpublished drawings, proposes new interpretations on the theme and attribution of others and groups in thematic units the traces developed by Ventura Rodríguez, dispersed in different institutions and private collections.

The scientific coordination of the book has corresponded to Javier Ortega Vidal - professor of architectural drawing at the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid - and has had the collaboration of José Luis Sancho Gaspar -researcher in Patrimonio Nacional - and Francisco José Marín Perellón -Director of the Municipal Press-.
