This is how it was...El Águila Suena 2021. Swing, jazz and cabaret in Madrid in the 30s
Music microfestival held on June 26 and 27, 2021 in El Águila
What popular music was heard in the early decades of the El Águila brewery? What local and imported melodies, and sometimes dissident, sounded in popular festivals and meeting places, perhaps around this Madrid-brewed beer?
In its first edition, the festival The Eagle sounds has transported us to the early days of the brewery, to immerse ourselves in the most playful soundtrack of the first decades of the 20th century. Through three proposals suitable for all audiences, the viewer was able to hear what sounded in Europe and what in Spain, what a worker from El Águila could listen to in a leisure moment, as well as learn the curious story of how the imported music and how it was adapted to escape censorship. A journey to the fast-paced 30s and XNUMXs of the XNUMXth century through some of its most iconic musical styles: the swing, el jazz and el cabaret, which includes some examples of the recovery of popular musical heritage, so often forgotten.
With a fresh and carefree summer festival format, with proposals accessible to all audiences, and an emphasis on family audiences, The Eagle sounds bets on our national talent by incorporating consolidated bands with an international trajectory into its line-up, as well as guest artists who are already treading heavily on the music scene in our country.
